Your Journey to Pain Relief Starts Here

We understand that living with chronic pain affects every aspect of your life. At Epione Pain Center, we're committed to providing you with the most thorough evaluation and personalized treatment plan to help you reclaim your quality of life.

You don't necessarily need a referral. While we welcome referrals from your family physician or specialist, you can also contact us directly to book an initial consultation. We accept OHIP-covered patients as well as those seeking private consultations.

What to Expect

1. Initial Consultation

Your first appointment typically lasts 45-60 minutes. Your pain specialist will conduct a thorough review of your medical history, current symptoms, previous treatments, and a comprehensive physical examination.

2. Diagnostic Workup

Based on the assessment, we may recommend diagnostic imaging (X-ray, MRI, CT), nerve conduction studies, or diagnostic injections to precisely identify the source of your pain.

3. Treatment Plan

We'll discuss all available treatment options, explain the risks and benefits of each, and develop a personalized plan together. Your goals and preferences guide every decision.

What to Bring

To make the most of your first visit, please bring the following:

Ontario Health Card (OHIP)

Your valid Ontario health card or other provincial health insurance.

Referral Letter

If referred by another physician, bring the referral letter (if you have a copy).

Imaging & Test Results

Any X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, nerve conduction studies, or lab work related to your pain.

Medication List

A complete list of current medications, dosages, and any known allergies.

Pain Diary (Optional)

Notes about your pain patterns — when it's worse, what helps, how it affects daily activities.

Common Questions

While referrals are welcome and may expedite the process, you can also contact us directly to schedule a consultation. Some OHIP-covered services may require a physician referral, which we can help you obtain.

Many of our consultation and interventional services are covered by OHIP. Some advanced treatments (like PRP or ketamine infusion) may be private-pay. We'll always discuss costs transparently before proceeding with any treatment.

We strive to see new patients within 2-4 weeks of receiving a referral. Urgent cases are triaged and seen sooner. Self-referred patients can often be scheduled within 1-2 weeks.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area of your pain. For back or spine assessments, you may be asked to change into a gown. Avoid wearing jewelry near the affected area.

Absolutely. We encourage you to bring a family member or friend for support. Having someone with you can also help remember the information discussed during your consultation.
